The Chicago White Sox have reportedly agreed to a contract agreement with Cuban outfielder Luis Robert.

Robert, 19, will earn a bonus of between $25 million and $30 million.

The St. Louis Cardinals were also considered a strong candidate to sign Robert.

Carlos Zambrano will return to the mound, but it remains to be seen if he will aim to make a Major League comeback.

Zambrano, 36, will pitch in the Venezuelan Winter League. He last pitched in the Major Leagues in 2012 and spent time in the Minor Leagues in 2013.

James Loney has requested and received his release from the Braves' Triple-A Gwinnett team.

Loney, 33, signed a Minor League deal with the team on Thursday after they learned Freddie Freeman will miss about 10 weeks with a fractured left wrist.

On Saturday, the Braves acquired Matt Adams from the St. Louis Cardinals. Adams was immediately inserted into Atlanta's starting lineup on Sunday.

Eric Gagne has elected to end his comeback attempt.

Gagne, 41, plans to turn his attention towards coaching.

He last pitched in the Major Leagues in 2008 and first retired in 2010. He was pitching for the Long Island Ducks with the Independent League.

Robert's deal with the White Sox is expected to be worth at least $25 million, as first reported Saturday by Fox Sports.

Robert, a 19-year-old outfielder who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, has been on the radar of major league teams since he was 15.

Fister hasn't pitched this season and will likely be optioned to the Minor Leagues to prepare for a big league role.

J.D. Martinez says he'd love to remain with the Detroit Tigers, but that it's "highly unlikely" there will be any contract negotiations during the season.

Martinez, who can become a free agent this winter, is hitting .467/.619/.1.267 in 21 plate appearances since returning to the lineup.

The Miami Marlins have optioned Tom Koehler to Triple-A New Orleans.

Koehler, 30, has been a fixture in Miami's rotation since 2013 and hasn't thrown a pitch in the Minor Leagues since then.

The Marlins avoided arbitration with Koehler prior to the season by agreeing to a one-year, $5.75 million salary for 2017. He allowed eight runs on seven hits and four walks through just three innings on Tuesday night and has already given up 10 home runs in fewer than 40 innings this season.

The New York Mets have signed reliever Neil Ramirez to bolster their bullpen.

Ramirez, who elected for free agency after being designated for assignment by the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, has a 8.71 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 10⅓ innings this season for Toronto and the San Francisco Giants.

The Mets also placed Asdrubal Cabrera on the disabled list Tuesday.
